Lecce 0-3 Como: Nico Paz Leads Lariano Revival at the Via del Mare

Como return to winning ways in Serie A with a convincing away performance, as goals from Nico Paz, Ramon, and Douvikas sink Lecce and reignite European ambitions.

Como closed out 2025 on a high note by emphatically defeating Lecce 3-0 at the Via del Mare, snapping a two-game losing streak and climbing back up the Serie A standings. It was a mature, efficient display from Cesc Fàbregas’ side, who absorbed pressure at key moments before striking decisively.

The opening phase was balanced, with both teams playing at a high tempo. The breakthrough came shortly after the 20-minute mark when Nico Paz showcased his quality. The Argentine talent shielded the ball under pressure from Ramadani, turned sharply, and fired a left-footed shot past Falcone, aided by a slight deflection off Tiago Gabriel.

The goal sparked furious protests from Lecce head coach Eusebio Di Francesco, who believed Nico Paz had fouled his marker in the build-up. Referee Marchetti disagreed and subsequently sent Di Francesco off from the touchline, further complicating the hosts’ evening.

Despite falling behind, Lecce reacted with determination and created several dangerous situations, though they lacked the cutting edge to restore parity. Early in the second half, Como goalkeeper Butez produced a crucial save to deny Tiago Gabriel, while moments later Gallo narrowly missed the target.

Just as Lecce appeared to be building momentum, Como delivered the knockout blow. On their first real attacking move of the half, Ramon finished from close range to double the lead, punishing the home side for their missed chances.

With the cushion of a two-goal advantage, Como played with increasing confidence. In the 76th minute, Nico Paz once again made the difference, orchestrating the move that allowed Douvikas to score the third and final goal, sealing a comprehensive away victory.

The win lifts Como back toward the upper half of the table and into contention for European places, while Lecce suffer their eighth defeat of the season and remain uncomfortably close to the relegation zone despite a spirited performance.
