Rangers–Roma 0–2: Soulé Shines as Pellegrini and Cristante Lead Giallorossi Back to Winning Ways

After two straight European defeats, Roma bounce back with a dominant 2–0 win in Glasgow thanks to first-half goals from Soulé and Pellegrini.

Roma returned to form in the Europa League, defeating Rangers 2–0 at Ibrox to get their campaign back on track. Gasperini’s men were in control from start to finish, striking twice in the first half through Matías Soulé and Lorenzo Pellegrini before expertly managing the game after the break.

The opening minutes were balanced, but Roma soon took charge. In the 13th minute, Pellegrini’s corner was flicked on by Cristante and met by Soulé at the back post — the Argentine nodding home his first-ever European goal. Rangers reacted immediately, with Chermiti narrowly missing the far post after an error from Tsimikas and Hermoso.

The Giallorossi doubled their lead in the 36th minute with a beautifully constructed move: Dovbyk held up play and fed Pellegrini, who guided the ball into the bottom corner with precision. The Scottish side pushed forward in response, but Svilar and Mancini combined to deny both Gassama and Moore. Before the break, Soulé almost made it 3–0 with a trademark curling effort.

The second half saw a more spirited Rangers, testing Svilar through Raskin and Chermiti, yet Roma stayed compact and disciplined. The visitors even came close to a third when Celik struck the crossbar from close range after a deflected shot by Tsimikas. In the final minutes, Svilar made a crucial save on Danilo to preserve a clean sheet and three well-deserved points.

A professional, composed performance sees Roma end their European slump, with Soulé and Pellegrini standing out in a team that looked once again confident and cohesive under Gasperini.
