Vincenzo Italiano made some statements to comment on the momentum of the team, which has grown exponentially after a not easy start. Now Bologna is among the best playing teams in Italy and aims to return to Europe next season.
TEAM GROWTH. “Let’s say we’ve been good at coming out in the league after a bit of a difficult start due to too many draws. We’ve had the ability to be able to come out on top in the league, to string together important wins despite the Champions League taking a lot of energy away, and now we’re there, behind the strongest.”
CHAMPIONS. “We found a very tough round, almost all the best ones we faced. With Shakhtar we could have done more, but the path was good. It gave us a hand in being able to grow in the league, great intensity and great pace. Champions is the mother of all competitions, packed stadiums, great quality players and what impressed me is the pace.”
CASTRO. “Let’s not forget that he’s just turned 20 years old, he’s a guy that because of the way he trains, the hunger he has, the desire he puts in during training, he can really become a top. He is showing qualities of a true center forward but he also adds great sacrifices in the service of the team, I am convinced that in front of him he has a really good future.”
DE SILVESTRI. “It hurt me to exclude him from the Champions list sincerely, however, it had already been put on the schedule. Lollo knew it, I was sorry but he was always behind the team and followed all the way in Champions. Then when he goes on the field he is a pride for everyone, for him first of all. I met a guy who is an example.”
DOMINGUEZ. “Benji is a great surprise, we knew about his qualities and his talents, he was an important starter in Argentina and he came here and he is coming up. He is not afraid of anything, he has personality, he can go one-on-one with anyone and if he continues like this he can carve out a future and a great space.”
