Collavino: “Deeply embittered: this is neither cheering nor sports”

To Telefriuli come the words, of deep bitterness, of Udinese General Director Franco Collavino after the post Udinese-Venice clashes when some Ultras bianconeri assaulted the train that was taking the lagoon fans home. Here are his words:

“We are deeply saddened by the events that occurred. This is not cheering and it is not sport. It is not enough to wear a scarf and come to the stadium to be a fan. There must also be a sharing of values. Udinese has always been a model and the propagation of those clashes certainly do not represent our fans. We express solidarity and gratitude to the police for their continued efforts. We also express solidarity with the medical workers who intervened and the true soccer fans and all the people who were involved in the clashes. Now, let justice take its course. In the heat of the moment, the desire of the society is to express bitterness over what happened.”
