Negotiations between Juventus and Lens for Kevin Danso have definitely fizzled out, as the French club has ruled out the possibility of a loan transfer. The Bianconeri are therefore forced to turn to other options to reinforce the defense in this market session.
Among the names at the top of the list is Udinese’s Thomas Kristensen, a profile already followed by the management in recent weeks. The Danish defender is valued for his pliability and ability to adapt to the rhythms of Serie A, qualities that make him a concrete option for the backroom of the team coached by Thiago Motta.
In addition to Kristensen, Juventus is monitoring other players for the defense. Candidates include Lloyd Kelly of Newcastle, Luka Goglichidze, Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior whom Motta previously coached at Spezia, Julian Chabot of Stuttgart, and Andreas Christensen. The Juventus club carefully evaluates opportunities on the market, looking for the profile best suited to the team’s tactical needs.
Another name being followed with interest, but with a longer-term perspective, is Nicolò Bertola, an Italian Under-21 defender currently with Spezia. The young central is on contract expiration and could be an option for the future of the Juventus defense.
More complicated, on the other hand, is the immediate arrival of Feyenoord’s David Hancko, who remains the management’s favorite but could in all likelihood land in Turin next summer on a zero-parameter basis. The Slovak defender is believed to be an ideal reinforcement for Juventus’ technical project, but the high cost of the player’s price tag makes an operation difficult as early as this market window.
Returning instead to Kristensen, Udinese has always said that it does not want to deprive itself of its starters in this market session, especially since there are now three days left until the end of negotiations. What will happen?
