Tete Morente tells his story. Goals, anecdotes and then the relationship with Giampaolo, with whom he has been reborn. The Spanish outfielder reveals how the former Toro’s arrival changed – at least in part – Lecce.
“Giampaolo wants us to never throw the ball away, to build from the back and not throw long. We outside attackers find ourselves playing many meters ahead and more ‘open’ than we did with Gotti. So we have more chances to play one-on-one. On his first day with us, he took me aside and asked me in which position I felt most comfortable. I told him that the left flank, where I have always played, is the area of the field where I am best. Now we press a lot more forward and can get to the goal faster.”
“The goal? “To improve on the previous season. Last year I scored 8 goals, so the minimum goal is to score 9.”
