Federico Chiesa has made up his mind and has no more doubts: his priority is to return to Serie A. His adventure at Liverpool turned out to be a disaster, despite winning the Premier League to which he contributed just enough to receive the medal.
The injury suffered early in the season affected him greatly. The muscle problem kept him out throughout October and even November, leading to his return only in mid-December. Re-entering at Premier pace, in that condition, was a serious problem, so much so that he resumed playing with the youth teams before seeing call-ups with the big boys again.

A difficult season, then, which convinced Chiesa to want to return to Italy. According to Fabrizio Romano’s report on X, the player has precisely expressed his priority for next season, which is to play in Serie A. The scarce minutes pushed the outfielder further toward this choice, which therefore moved Italian teams.
This includes Napoli, which has long been in Chiesa’s orbit. There are three obstacles: the first is related to competition, but with the right project the Azzurri can overcome it and convince the player. The second is related to physical condition, since after the rupture of the ACL Chiesa has had numerous minor aches and pains and with Conte’s pace a few too many stops will have to be taken into account.
And third, more important, is the aspect related to the economic agreement. Liverpool did not seem so willing to let him leave on loan, but hardly any Italian club will be willing to make a dry purchase without too many guarantees and safeguards on the player’s physique. Moreover, the figures would not be low, neither for the transfer nor for the price tag. Too high a risk.
The Reds will have to make a move toward Serie A clubs, opening up to even a one-year loan, with a right of redemption that may convince a club to invest in a year’s time, depending on Chiesa’s performance. All that remains is to wait, but the player’s will will be decisive.
