On the eve of the important direct championship clash with Lecce, Fabio Pecchia spoke in a press conference and returned to talk about the heavy defeat to Milan: “We have metabolized and analyzed the many positive things and also the negative aspects. It’s about fitting into a new group and getting used to a new type of work. We know, he is important for us, he is a reference point. He takes weight off our strikers and gives us an important alternative, we have to know how to use it. Bonny’s physical condition is affected by the flu, he was a few days off. Let’s see if we can have him at full strength, for me it is a valid solution to play with both or just Bonny.”
The Crusader coach then analyzed the team’s psychological condition after the comeback in Milan: “These defeats remain, time will pass, games will be played and won but those remain in everyone’s head and memories. A game played for 92 minutes, then you find yourself with a negative result. These are things that happen, yesterday it happened even in the Champions League. The team has to persevere and work with confidence, believe in it strongly. Playing like this for 91 minutes is not accidental, it is merit, skill and ability.” Parma’s only goal must be to bring home the three points, as confirmed by Pecchia: “Let’s not make these speeches. On 2-2 in Milan you don’t sign for a point, the mentality must always be to go and play with desire and energy, even the lightness we showed. Otherwise you don’t score two goals and create so many chances if you are pessimistic. Tomorrow I want the team like that, projected for victory.”
Finally, the Crusader coach wanted to send a message to the fans, asking for their support in this important challenge: “We have excited our public, receiving great responses. A good relationship has been created. I always asked the boys to convey emotions, many times we succeeded, some times not. If we want to go for something important we need everyone.”
