Inter, Marotta cash in: two disposals ready, Inzaghi’s position

At home, Inter continues the market, both incoming and outgoing: two disposals ready, Marotta makes cash

With 50 points in the standings, Inter are having an exciting season, but the competition is fierce. The Nerazzurri are second in Serie A, just three points behind Napoli in the lead, but with one game less than the Azzurri. An advantage that, if exploited properly, could put everything back on the line.

While Simone Inzaghi’s team continues to grind out positive results, the feeling is that, in order to aim for the title, something needs to happen in the winter market. And so, the soccer market gets into full swing, with Inter ready to step in to reinforce a squad that already looks complete but still has some weaknesses.

Il mercato di gennaio: rinforzi in difesa e cessioni in vista

Inzaghi is clear in his demands: reinforcements, especially in defense, where the squad appears shorter. The deck is drawn, and the Nerazzurri coach knows that, to aim for high goals, reliable alternatives are needed in every department.

With Darmian and Carlos Augusto having already adapted to playing in multiple roles, the goal for Inter could be to add another central defender, perhaps to give respite to Acerbi, whose performance this season is still to be closely monitored given the many injuries.

The choice will depend a great deal on the coming weeks, particularly on the answers coming from Francesco Acerbi, who may also prove to be a central element in the market strategy.

Meanwhile, the offensive department may be subject to change. Marco Arnautovic is finding less and less space, and his stay at Inter is being questioned, considering also the little employment he is receiving. The Austrian’s transfer, barring surprises, could open up new scenarios.

However, the real news at Inter concerns disposals. Two names in particular seem destined to leave Milan: Tajon Buchanan and Facundo Palacios. The Canadian, bought last winter, has not found space due to a long injury and fierce competition.

His ambitions, which initially saw him play a starring role, have been shelved out of necessity. Now, with the January market just around the corner, Buchanan may seek continuity elsewhere. Several Italian and foreign teams, including Torino, Ajax, Fiorentina and Villarreal, have shown interest in the outfielder. Inter is considering the options: in case of a loan, a destination within Serie A would be preferred, but a permanent transfer is not ruled out.

Palacios also looks set to leave. His loan to Monza is increasingly likely, opening the door to another assessment of the club’s needs. The departure of both players could free up both financial and tactical resources, with Inter using the opportunity to further strengthen its staff.

Cosa aspetta l’Inter: un mercato che può fare la differenza

If the current situation seems clear enough, the balance between purchases and disposals could be decisive for Inter. With Buchanan and Palacios ready to leave the team, Inter has the opportunity to make targeted transactions: a defender to complete the squad and perhaps an outside player who can add quality and versatility to the team. And then there is always the Arnautovic issue, whose future in Milan seems uncertain.

The question on everyone’s mind is: will the January market sanction the definitive run-up to the Scudetto? With the competition tightening, Inzaghi knows that the squad needs to be adjusted, and a few grafts could really make a difference. It will be interesting to see how the club will move, also in light of Acerbi’s choices and other ongoing evaluations.

And, who knows, maybe these moves could become the turning point for an Inter Milan that has no intention of stopping.
