All as expected. The choices made last summer had set off alarm bells: everyone, fans and others, knew they were wrong. Anyone but the Milan executives. Giorgio Furlani took control of the sports area, despite having no football expertise whatsoever, in June 2023 after Paolo Maldini’s inexplicable ouster: from that moment, the meltdown began. Several sources in fact in the last hours speak of a rapprochement with Igli Tare, the former Lazio sporting director who has been firm since he said goodbye to the capital. With him there have been several meetings in Rome with Furlani: free of contractual constraints, Milan could have already closed for his arrival, so as to start working and planning for the summer, this has not been the case, this suggests that there are some doubts about it.
However, time is running out and there are very few good solutions. That’s why there could be a comeback for Tare, who would certainly bring a bit more expertise to the team: he did well with Lazio on a shoestring budget, has the right experience and knows the Italian league.
