Tammy Abraham will return to Roma, Alexis Saelemaekers to Milan. But these are only formal returns. According to a report by Matteo Moretto on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, the verbal agreement between the two clubs, struck last summer, has now lapsed.
In January, the parties failed to agree on their respective tag valuations and the negotiations stalled. Now Milan expects Roma to submit a new offer for Saelemaekers, but only on an outright basis and as if it were a transaction unrelated to Abraham.
The two players, who will face each other as opponents tomorrow night at the Stadio Olimpico, will return to their respective teams, but their futures are yet to be written.
