Another May 4 has passed, but this year’s was perhaps among the most emotional of all. The march, the route all together, the shared memories and the unity among the fans, perhaps the best thing shown beyond the commemorations. Those who received the most affection, beyond coach Paolo Vanoli, however, were Duvan Zapata and Perr Schuurs. The two are greatly missed by the fans, who can’t wait to see them back on the field; this is especially true for the Dutchman, who has not had the chance to return this season after his very bad injury and is already preparing for next year.
After many drawn-out schedules, a couple of operations, and a very long road to recovery, it is finally less and less until Perr Schuurs returns to the field. The former Ajax defender, out of action since October 2023, sees the light at the end of the tunnel and is starting to prepare himself to be at his best for the start of next season. No hurry of course, also because there are now two full months ahead of him to gradually resume training. It will obviously not be easy to get back to past levels after being idle for a year and a half, and in this sense the watchword is calm: Schuurs may yes be considered a true newcomer, but at the same time he needs everything but to be filled with pressure. The 25-year-old, as is only right, will need time to return to his best.

E se è vero che il Pallone Granata vuole rappresentare un simbolo di appartenenza e passione, il difensore cileno ha dimostrato di essere perfettamente in sintonia con l’anima della squadra.
Il Trofeo Cozzolino
La stessa giuria ha inoltre assegnato il Trofeo avv. Sergio Cozzolino, dedicato al miglior giocatore della Primavera, al giovane difensore irlandese Senan Michael Mullen. Classe 2005, è arrivato dal Dundalk nel febbraio 2024 ed è diventato rapidamente un pilastro della retroguardia granata, distinguendosi anche con la Nazionale U18 del suo paese. Con questa terza edizione, il Pallone Granata conferma il proprio valore simbolico, celebrando non solo il talento, ma anche l’identità e l’attaccamento alla maglia, in perfetto stile Toro.
Nel 2023, nella prima edizione, è stato assegnato ad Alessandro Buongiorno. La seconda edizione del Pallone Granata, per il campionato 2023-2024 è stata assegnata a Duvan Zapata, che in quel campionato è risultato il miglior marcatore della squadra granata. Alessandro Dellavalle e Aaron Ciammaglichella per quanto riguarda invece la Primavera.
