Radja Nainggolan arrested in Brussels: charge is international drug trafficking

Radja Nainggolan, a former player of Cagliari, Roma, and Inter Milan, among others, and a few days back in the Belgian second division, was arrested yesterday morning in Brussels.

For the midfielder, a very serious charge, referring to involvement in international drug trafficking between South America and Antwerp, Nainggolan’s hometown.

Trying to clarify the situation of the former Belgian national team midfielder was his lawyer Omar Souidi reported by the Belgian portal Hln.be:

“Nainggolan is very shaken by what happened. He has appeared in the media before in the context of traffic-related cases. This is a different story. Why are they linking him to international drug trafficking? This is a secret of the investigation. I cannot say anything about it. It is a disgrace to his reputation that he is already linked to such an international drug dossier. The principle of innocence also applies to Nainggolan. He has been questioned, but to be clear: he has not yet been charged.”
