Juve, Renica: “With Allegri dilemma between spectacle and concreteness”

Interviewed on Radio Marte, Alessandro Renica, speaking about the soccer expressed by coach Antonio Conte, mentioned a dilemma that already existed in Massimiliano Allegri’s time at Juventus. Here are his words, “Controversy about Napoli’s lack of good play? It is the eternal question around which soccer has always revolved, the dilemma between spectacle or concreteness. It has also been discussed with regard to Allegri’s Juve. I agree with what Conte said: in soccer it is necessary to win, and those who succeed deserve it even beyond the beautiful game. For spectacle there is the circus; soccer is a different thing. I also do not agree with those who say Napoli did not play well in Lecce or during the season: it is normal that you cannot dominate for 90′, the opponent exists, emotional aspects come into play, there are many situations that determine the course of a match.”

Renica: “Il Napoli ha giocato bene contro Atalanta e Juventus”

Antonio Conte, allenatore del Napoli

The former footballer continued: “Against Atalanta or against Juve, Napoli played important and beautiful games. Then there are matches where you have to suffer and win. Napoli is at the top with merit, Conte has managed to transfer his mentality to the players, and you can see players on the field who are animated by great determination, which is anything but obvious. I must also give kudos to De Laurentiis: he has not created problems in the locker room, he took Conte, he took Oriali and for buying players like Lukaku, McTominay and Buongiorno who have made the difference. The society has been exemplary. Conte has been exceptional, he has done a tremendous job on the defensive phase that I had noticed from the very beginning, erasing the previous year in which Napoli was taking ridiculous goals with unrecognizable players.” Read also Matias Soulè’s words on Allegri <<<
