Serie A, le parole di Baroni nel prepartita di Lazio Parma
LAZIO – April 24, 1949. Remondini, on a penalty, and Penzo in the first half, then, again Remondini, this time on a free kick, and Nyers II in the second: Lazio liquidated Triestina with a round 4-0, before the eyes of the Honorable Andreotti and CONI President Giulio Onesti. The biancocelesti led by Sperone are a virtuous example of fine soccer in the postwar National Division Division A championship, thanks to deep dedication and the application of innovative concepts, at least for the Belpaese.

Lazio’s play is disarming in its simplicity and rationality, from which it derives a great deal of effectiveness, which allows for a daring comparison with the philosophies of modern coaches: a solid defense, held up by a Remondini on a day of grace who also disguises himself as a bomber, combined with a mixture of quality and quantity for the midfield and attack, two departments that move in unison, where Puccinelli runs for four, Flamini acts as conductor, Hofling finishes and Nyers II scores. At the National Stadium in Rome, it’s just applause.

HISTORY-April 24, 1821. Alessandro Manzoni, having retired to his villa in Brusuglio after the imprisonment of many of his friends, deeply shaken and nauseated by the frequent injustices of his time, after numerous readings, began the writing of a work dedicated to the humble and that would prove to be a masterpiece of Italian literature, capable of drawing the new horizons of our language: I Promessi Sposi (The Betrothed), initially titled Fermo e Lucia (Fermo and Lucia).

SPORT – April 24, 1934. Franco Carradori was born in Rome, a halfback gifted with great dynamism and spirit of sacrifice, as well as an above-average technique for the role, who grew up in the biancoceleste nursery. With Lazio dei grandi, after a loan to Palermo, he played for six seasons, from 1955 to 1961, the year of his transfer to Brescia, winning the first historic Coppa Italia and collecting 147 league appearances, topped by nine goals. After hanging up his boots, he began a long coaching career, starting right from the Capitoline youth sector. He passed away on August 26, 2004.
