Analysis of the regulations leaves no doubt, here are the eventual playoff venues: there is no San Siro.
The possibility of an end-of-league playoff between Inter and Napoli is gaining more and more value. Simone Inzaghi’s men and Antonio Conte’s men are now tied on points in the standings when there are five games left in the championship.
Direct clash tied and, therefore, playoff idea. In recent hours, however, several rumors have begun to emerge regarding the possible venue of the play-off, which by regulation should be played at the home of the best-ranked team according to the avulse ranking. And therefore in Milan, thanks to the difference, better in the case of Inter.
Spareggio, l’analisi del regolamento e le possibile sedi oltre San Siro
Today’s edition of Il Mattino, however, takes a closer look at the situation and highlights two issues. The first related to the regulations themselves and the reasons why the playoff could not be played at the San Siro Stadium.

“In the same regulation, in fact, there is a derogation on which the Viminale – net of today’s priorities – is already working. The match can be played “in the venue of the Coppa Italia Final in the event that there are prohibitions by the authorities in charge of public order,” reads the same regulation provided for the play-off. Prohibitions that in Milan, with Inter and Napoli as protagonists, would not be lacking,” the newspaper writes.
And then the question that, at this point, arises. There are three hypotheses for the venue of the tie-breaker, between those most easily applicable and those that are difficult to implement.
“Hence the possibility of veering elsewhere. And where? Rome and the Olimpico are the most logical option, but among the options of those who will decide there is also the San Nicola in Bari as a possible destination. More complicated, however, to think of a stadium such as Reggio Emilia: too small a structure to be able to host a match that promises to be full of tension and especially of fans to experience a historic evening in one sense or another,” Il Mattino concludes.
