I precedenti di Torino-Udinese in Serie A: i granata hanno una media di poco più di una vittoria ogni due partite
An Easter Monday unlike any other for Torino, which will celebrate together with Udinese at the Stadio Olimpico. In fact, the Friulani will pay a visit to the Granata for the 33rd day of Serie A, in an environment that is indeed expected to be festive. Torino-Udinese is a historic match, between two teams that – though often mid-table – have been battling with the Serie A bigwigs for years: not surprisingly, there are as many as 41 previous matches in the top league played in Piedmont, which see a granata dominance: 22 victories for Torino, 9 draws and only 10 bianconeri successes. Total dominance, and the goal now is to give continuity to these numbers.
L’ultimo precedente
The last match between the two teams played at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino dates back to Dec. 23, 2023, the last match before Christmas. A 1-1 all decided in the last ten minutes, first with a goal by Zarraga spoiled by a mistake by Milinkovic-Savic and then by a beautiful parabola by Ilic that ended up in the net. A point each and Christmas holidays saved, with the two teams then managing to save themselves-though less quietly the Friulians.
Una vittoria per l’Europa
That of April 27, 2014-almost exactly 11 years ago-is a victory that certainly Granata fans cannot have forgotten. On a truly record-breaking Sunday, the granata achieved a 2-0 success, thanks to goals from El Kaddouri and Immobile, that brought the Europa dream much closer. Not only that, because the 52 points achieved on that occasion also marked the momentary record since the three points per win was introduced.
La giornata di Sirigu
In 2018/2019, Toro achieved another important victory, in the sign of Salvatore Sirigu. In fact, the goalkeeper was the protagonist of many decisive interventions, including a penalty parried by Rodrigo De Paul, managing to keep the goal untouched and contributing to the obtaining of the three points. The match ended 1-0 and the decider was a goal by Aina.
