A victory that is worth a lot the one obtained by coach Fabregas’ boys this afternoon in Monza, three points won thanks to character and the will to win. The Larian coach is satisfied, here are his words at the end of the match:
“Today’s is a fundamental victory and I also like it because it comes after the match against Empoli at the end of which we were not all with our heads down. Today we won an important game and we have to enjoy this victory because it doesn’t happen to us often and this is a very important step towards salvation which is our goal. From tomorrow we think about the next one with Torino.”
The team, after going down, had a good reaction….
“Yes, I agree. We knew that they are a team that starts strong and always plays to win but we knew that when they get a goal or two goals they go in trouble. At the beginning we didn’t do very well in the one-on-one, I expected more from the two center-backs who are the two strongest players in the team physically however it is true that the reaction of the team was there. We did not read the first half hour very well, slow passes and too much dribbling. We are a team that when we lose easy-to-manage balls we suffer the counterattack but we are in a process and we want to grow. Today in the second half we really played a great big game and I am very happy.”
The coach also has words for Douvikas, who played the entire match today and came close to scoring several times
“Tasos is a different player from the others, he can attack the depth, he has physical strength and legs, great mentality and he can improve a lot. He could score three or four goals today and I’m sure he will be able to make good use of the opportunities in the future.”
