We plan to bring in important players, a lot of growing guys. Many guys make an immediate impact, we want people who can make a strong impression on the team.
Ikonè and Strefezza together ? Yes, but without Paz. Strefezza has been the most used this season by us: he is strong, he has great mentality, he can play anywhere. I trust him a lot, the two can be complementary, they can play together. Diao and Ikonè together ? Well yes, Diao is one who points man and jumps opponent. But the two can be together on the field.
Fabregas and Como: what percentage of growth is he at ? Hard to say, we are still far from the owner’s ambition. Now we are creating a path of growth in everything, including discipline, respect, work culture. To have a great structure you have to make a strong base, this starts day by day in Mozzate: I proud of the boys, you can’t change everything right away. But improvements have been there, we try to bring here player talent and great kids. You can grow a lot, we are still far from where we need to get….
Points lost by Como in this championship……I didn’t do calculations, I don’t care. There are so many variables in soccer, posts, offside, mistakes……We can only improve and be better under the net and manage games. I have to improve on that and help the guys, that’s where we can improve…. Kempf and some mistakes recently ? He had a difficult time, I know, we talked about it. I believe in him, he always played even when he was not well. I talked with him, he is growing, Saturday he made a mistake at the beginning yes and then grew a lot. I trust him, strong and experienced player, he can grow too and do more for the team
The boys don’t know who is playing until two hours before the game, now comes the time where expertise shows me who can take the field and who cannot. I decide at the last, but I don’t tell them until just before the game. Como’s roster and the value of the players: important growth in Como, the team is sixth in Europe. We are trying to invest in talented guys, maybe those who are not very well known like Valle, Nico, Diao. We bring guys here not to speculate, but to make the team grow as a whole.
