After picking up an expulsion in the last home game against Verona, Ricci left a starting spot vacant in the lineup and forced Vanoli to identify a possible replacement. In the poll launched yesterday we asked readers who they would prefer to see take the field alongside Casadei among the 4 possible midfield performers, the result sees a substantial majority of votes for Ilic, who recently returned from injury, and Gineitis, a player who when called upon has often distinguished himself with excellent performances. Both players reached the same percentage of votes corresponding to 38 percent, thus detaching possible candidates Linetty and Tameze.

Most readers were in favor of the previously mentioned players, however, Vanoli has two more options to fill that role: following the two candidates in a tie was Linetty, an experienced player who has filled that role numerous times, with 16 percent while closing the ranking is midfielder Tameze with 8 percent of the votes, given the ‘difficult year in which he struggled to carve out minutes on the field.
