Four shots on goal (three by Elmas), zero goals: Torino not very cynical

Il macedone non sfrutta le occasioni, il Como tira in porta 7 volte ma segna: le statistiche della partita

Nothing to do for Torino. The granata leave the “Sinigaglia” in Como defeated, with the mockery of the equalizing goal cancelled in the last minutes of the game. Biraghi’s double touch from a corner kick blurs Toro’s dream, with the granata who would have deserved to greet Como with at least a point in their pockets.

The hosts controlled the game for large stretches and made themselves dangerous several times in the first half. In the second half Fabregas’ team fades away and it is the guests who light up. Como dominated ball possession from the first minutes until 60′, when the Grenadians kicked into another gear and administered the match. It is no surprise that the equalizing goal, later annulled, came in the very end of the match, when Vanoli’s boys pushed on the accelerator and Como decided to raise the barricade in defense.

Vanja vince la sfida con il Como

Despite a complicated period, Vanja Milinkovic-Savic proved yet again to be a key player for the Granata. The Serbian goalkeeper kept the team alive by neutralizing Como’s shots. The Lombardi kicked 15 times, hitting the goal on 7 occasions. Vanja foiled 6 potential goals by the hosts, surrendering only to Douvikas’ header on an assist from former Vojvoda.

Como dominated the statistics on shots. The player to have attempted the goal most times was Da Cunha. Out of 5 shots attempted by the Frenchman, only 2 came into the Garnet goal mirror. Topping the list of the highest number of shots on goal was Elmas (3 attempts out of the Garnet’s four total, considering Gineitis’), followed by 4 Como players: Da Cunha, Moreno, Diao and Goldaniga.

Toro, dov’è il pressing a centrocampo?

Como dominated ball possession thanks to its midfielders. Maximiliano Perrone played a praise-worthy game on the report card. The Argentine, on loan from Manchester City, drew geometries and handled the ball to perfection. Perrone distributed 58 balls (first in the match statistics), completing 97 percent of the passes. In second place ranks Da Cunha. 91% of the passes attempted by the Frenchman reached their destination.

Linetty and Gineitis battled in the middle of the field, winning back 5 and 6 balls respectively. However, the pressure on the metronome (Perrone) was never effective, and Fabregas’ team managed to complete as many as 104 passes in the last third of the field compared to Taurus’ 62.

Karol Linetty of Torino FC competes for the ball with Pawel Dawidowicz of Hellas Verona FC during the Serie A football match between Torino FC and Hellas Verona FC.
