At the end of the challenge against Borussia Dortmund, Bologna coach Vincenzo Italiano spoke this way to the microphones of Sky Sport:
“When I think that today I won my first game in the Champions League…I am happy and excited, we are eliminated but for me it’s like we won the final. I’m happy for the boys and for our fans, it’s a dream come true. We prepared it well, the initial penalty could have jeopardized our game plan, instead we were good at not risking anything more and in the second half to turn it around. Holm was good at not getting conditioned, Odgaard came in well and helped by being much more attacking than Ferguson. Goal in the league? The club wants to keep Europe, they didn’t put pressure on us on what competition but they want to stay at the top. We are all growing in condition, I see great enthusiasm from everyone who is called upon. So far some faults in the league have deprived us of some points, but from mistakes we grow, we have a very young team.”
