Lazaro and Walukiewicz, decisive days: Vanoli wants them both for Lazio

A pochi giorni dalla trasferta di Roma il tecnico Vanoli deve valutare la condizione di Lazaro e Walukiewicz

The national break is drawing to a close and the former Venice coach is hoping to get all his players back for the season finale starting Monday night at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. Amid several doubts related to the physical condition of all the players who have returned from the national teams, Vanoli is in a difficult situation since both Lazaro and Walukiewicz are not in their best condition after the recent injuries collected in the last championship period. Toro’s right flank is indeed deprived of its starting players who in a period of general team form managed to become guarantees for the Granata coach.

La settimana di recupero

Training resumes today at the Filadelfia with a double training session scheduled by Vanoli who hopes to find a large group to start working immediately with the right approach to the championship. After the knock he received against Parma, Lazaro played only the final minutes of the match against Empoli, but last week he did differentiated work aimed at his complete recovery and, in addition, did not participate in the open-door friendly against Asti so as not to risk relapses and to be ready for tomorrow’s session.

Incertezza su Walukiewicz

After being injured in the last league game against Empoli, Walukiewicz could not respond to the call-up of his coach who hoped to have him available against Lithuania and Malta. As Lazaro continued his plan of differentiated training in order to be sure to be back in shape by Monday for the game against Lazio, Vanoli will need his defensive outside back since Lazio could benefit from the contribution of an overflowing Nuno Tavares, also recovering from injury.
