Lucca: “We come loaded to the challenge with Inter, and I’m hungry for more.”

At the microphones of the colleagues of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Udinese center forward Lorenzo Lucca spoke, fresh from his double experience with Luciano Spalletti’s Italy. Here is an excerpt of his most significant statements.

GOALS – “To set them would become a mental limitation. I don’t talk about goals. I reason game by game, goal by goal.”

THE CHALLENGE TO INTER – “We will arrive loaded, we have shown that in important matches we give something more, against small ones less. I am so hungry. If you’re not hungry you don’t get anywhere. We have to try to go as far as possible. There is a strong group here, with people with personality.”

THE LECCE CASE – “I paid for dinner for the team, we went 20 minutes to Udine. I paid, but there is no need to talk about it anymore. It has been blown out of proportion.”

A JUDGMENT ON COMPANIONS – “Thauvin is very strong, he gives us a big hand. Sanchez gives me a lot of advice. I also talk to him a lot because I know Spanish and I hang out with all the teammates who speak it. Solet is strong, but he struggles with me. He has a lot of technique and a lot of self-esteem. In this job mentality makes 90%. Iker Bravo has technique and personality, he can be the future of Udinese.”

THE CALENDAR – “We have some direct clashes at home, including with Bologna and Fiorentina. And we are strong at home.”

ABROAD OR ITALY IN THE FUTURE? – “It makes no difference. I have grown physically, technically and mentally. I see more goals abroad, Serie A is difficult but it is a challenge that gives me adrenaline. I am the master of my destiny.”
