At last the clubs have submitted the purchase proposal for the Giuseppe Meazza and the surrounding area.

If on the field the two teams are rivals, on the other hand Milan and Inter are allied for a very important project: building a stadium of their own. After exploring the possibility of going outside Milan, each with its own sports facility, they are back to work together to make a new home in the San Siro area.
Having discarded the possibility of renovating the Giuseppe Meazza, the two clubs returned to the shared plan as early as 2019 and then shelved. But compared to then, there is a plan to acquire the Scala del Calcio and the surrounding area, no more talk of just having the surface right. The two Milanese companies took an important step today, finally presenting the long-awaited offer to the Milan administration. An official statement was issued a short while ago:

“AC Milan and FC Internazionale Milano today deposited the DOCFAP, containing the proposal for the acquisition of the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium and surrounding areas, with the design feasibility hypothesis for the construction of a state-of-the-art stadium, included in an urban regeneration project, in the sign of innovation, sustainability and accessibility, at the Milan City Hall.
A proposal drawn up by the best professionals and experts in the field, the result of the strategic vision of the properties of the two Clubs, which lays the foundations for the implementation of a work that will represent an international benchmark and bring significant benefits to the city of Milan and the people of Milan. In the coming months, the two Clubs will meet with the Municipal Administration to share and deepen the details and distinctive elements of the proposal, with the goal of completing the acquisition process by July 2025.
The final concept and executive design will eventually be submitted at a later stage and are therefore not the subject of the documentation submitted today.”
To date there is no drawing of what the new Milan and Inter Milan sports facility would look like, however, there is all the documentation required to buy the area on which it should be built and also the feasibility project. Now it will be up to the Milan administration to evaluate the proposal.
