Milan does not attract Rossoneri fans from southern Italy

There will not be a sold-out crowd at the Via del Mare for the challenge between Lecce and Milan. The Rossoneri’s difficult moment has discouraged many fans, especially from southern Italy, and on the eve of the match there were only 3,500 tickets sold. Added to these are the 21,726 season ticket holders who will support Giampaolo’s team. The match against Milan is one of three matches with increased ticket prices. However, the strategy has not yielded the desired results: the number of coupons sold is the lowest number among the challenges against the big names. Against Inter, 5,500 tickets had been purchased, while with Juventus 5,300.

Of the 3,500 tickets sold, 1,600 were purchased by visiting fans, who have sold out their section. In the other areas of the stadium, including the Curva Sud with popular prices, there is still ample availability. The season record for spectators remains at the opening match against Atalanta, with 28,719 in attendance. It remains to be seen whether, despite the reduced attendance, the warmth of the Via del Mare will be able to make a difference against a struggling Milan.
