Il difensore cileno contro il Monza ha disputato un’altra ottima partita strepitosa: decisivo con il suo salvataggio su Zeroli
Maripan has now become a truly indispensable player for Vanoli’s Toro. The Chilean has not left the field since he returned to playing as a starter against Bologna. There are now 11 consecutive games played from the first minute until the end. On the last day against Monza, the number 13 of the Toro was the protagonist of a monumental performance. Particularly noteworthy is his intervention in the penalty area on Zeroli who, after a pinball in the box, was kicking a sure shot from the edge of the small area. In front, however, he was met with a super intervention by Maripan who saved Milinkovic-Savic by clearing the penalty area.
Maripan sempre più irrinunciabile
It took him a while to adapt to the new league and the new team, but now Maripan is the undisputed leader of the Toro’s defensive line, clearly surpassing Coco, contrary to what it seemed at the beginning of the season. The Chilean’s grit has won over the coach, his teammates, and especially all the fans. By now the granata can no longer deprive themselves of their number 13, who in this second phase of the season has improved exponentially making himself decisive in every game from the defensive point of view and even managing to score a very important goal against Atalanta.
Il cambio di modulo ha aiutato anche lui
The change of module wanted by Vanoli has certainly helped the growth of the Chilean, who for years had been used to playing in the 4-man defense and seemed a bit lost in the 3-man defense with which the Toro had started the season. Together with Coco he now forms the defensive pair of the granata, a pair that apart from occasional slips, is working very well and is the foundation of the successes that are coming in the last period of Vanoli’s team.
