Milan in Italian Super Cup, how much money it can collect: the figures

The Rossoneri club is ready to challenge Juventus in Riyad: here are details of the money it can make by going all the way to the Supercoppa Italiana final.

Inter Milan defeated Atalanta in the first Italian Super Cup semifinal played in Saudi Arabia, specifically at the Al Awwal Park stadium in Riyadh. At the same venue, Juventus and AC Milan will face each other on Friday, January 3, 2025, starting at 8 p.m., and the winning semifinalist will then play in the final scheduled for Monday, January 6, also at Al Awwal Park.

For Sergio Conceicao, this will be the first game as coach of the Rossoneri team and he is obviously keen to start with a win and then play for the trophy against Inter Milan. Unfortunately, he will have to forgo Rafael Leao, who has not yet recovered from the latest muscle injury suffered. Christian Pulisic will be there, although the American national will still not be 100 percent and will probably not have 90 minutes in his legs. The days spent together with the players were few, however, the Portuguese coach tried to clearly and directly transfer his soccer ideas and mentality.

Milan is having a somewhat below-expectation season, especially when considering the league, where it is eighth in the standings with 14 points off the top and eight away from the Champions League zone. Conceicao’s difficult mission is to get to at least fourth place, but in the meantime it would not hurt at all to put a trophy in the trophy cabinet. RedBird ownership and the Rossoneri management would like to start 2025 by raising the Italian Super Cup.

Winning a trophy is important for many reasons: to enrich the palmares, to give confidence to the team and in general to the whole environment, and to collect money. As explained by colleagues at calcioefinanza.it, the agreement between the Lega Serie A and Saudi Arabia provides for a total revenue of about 23 million euros for this year’s edition of the Italian Super Cup. Of this prize money, about 16.2 million is divided among Milan, Inter, Juventus and Atalanta.

8 milioni alla vincitrice

Depending on what the agreements are with the clubs’ respective sponsors/partners, bonuses may also be triggered if the trophy is won. We will see who will raise it on Monday, Jan. 6, in Riyadh. Milan last won it in December 2016 in Doha, Qatar, defeating Juventus in penalty kicks after a 1-1 draw in regulation and extra time.
