Conceicao’s arrival on the Milan bench could change Milan’s market strategies. Here are who could be the Rossoneri’s three new targets
In the presentation press conference held at Milanello just hours before his arrival on the Rossoneri bench, Sergio Conceicao glossed over the inevitable question about possible market moves in January.

“I haven’t talked about the market, I haven’t even had the time,” this is the answer of the Portuguese coach who first wants to get to know all the players at his disposal, including the Milan Futuro boys, as best he can. Only then will it be understood whether Milan will intervene in the market, a hypothesis that cannot be ruled out at all especially if there should be disposals, above all those in attack of Jovic and one of Okafor or Chukwueze.
In these decidedly turbulent days at the Rossoneri’s home, there have been many players being mentioned at AC Milan by those who believe that the management is really intent on freshening up the roster after deciding to change coaches. In particular, the Spanish portal Fichajes mentions three possible market targets for Milan in January. Two of them have already played in Serie A.

The former Serie A players being accosted by Milan by the cited source are Joshua Zirkzee and Federico Chiesa. Both are going through a rather complicated period with Manchester United and Liverpool. The former Bologna man is nowhere near the performance that made him one of the best players in the last Serie A championship while Chiesa, also the accomplice of an injury, took the field for only 18 minutes in the Premier League with the Reds.

Both Zirkzee and Chiesa could represent potential market opportunities for Milan only on loan, a hypothesis on which, at the moment, there is no openness from the home clubs. In particular, Chiesa, in case of Okafor’s transfer, can be an alternative to Leao on the left flank. Inevitably, however, there is a big question mark on the feasibility of the possible negotiation and it is represented by doubts about the physical condition of the former Juve, given the very poor employment in the first part of the season.
Fichajes also credits as an AC Milan target Otavio, the Portuguese trequartista now at Pioli’s Al Nassr whom Conceicao coached at Porto. It was precisely with the current Rossoneri coach that Otavio experienced his best seasons in his career. It is difficult, however, for Al Nassr to deprive itself (even on loan) of one of its starters this season, after, moreover, having paid Porto a whopping 60 million euros just one year.
