Some statements after the defeat in Rotterdam are now redundant: Seedorf’s comment is spot on.

An ugly Milan we saw in the match against Feyenoord in the first leg of the Champions League playoffs. A very different performance will be needed next week at the San Siro to overturn the 1-0 result and win qualification.
The team’s approach to the match was wrong, and this is certainly not the first time this has happened. Unfortunately, many times we have witnessed profligate performances by the Rossoneri in terms of attitude, with players appearing not very hungry to win on the field. Absurd.
Sergio Conceicao always appears incredulous when he finds himself commenting on this issue; he cannot understand how players wearing the Milan jersey can be on the field with the wrong mentality. Also incredulous are the fans, who despite the change of coach continue to see this. The victory in the Italian Super Cup had deluded about a possible turnaround on the character level, Conceicao seemed to have brought new energy: unfortunately, the problem remains despite the Portuguese coach’s commitment.
Le parole di Leao, la risposta di Seedorf
Interviewed by Prime Video in the post-match, Rafael Leao spoke as follows, “We did not have the same aggressiveness and grit that they put in the first half. In the second half we were better, but we were not at the level of this game. I had an opportunity that could have changed the game, however, I couldn’t finish the action. We have to see what we did not do well and learn to win at home in our next game. There are no excuses, we had to put the same aggressiveness as the opponents and win all the duels. They did not succeed. In the return leg we have to put the attitude that such an important Champions League game requires. We didn’t put it, if we put it surely with our qualities we will win the game.”

Leao is not wrong in his analysis, even Tijjani Reijnders and Strahinja Pavlovic in the post-match stressed the there was not enough aggression on the court. The problem is that words are of little use; what is needed is for everyone to give their best. After months we keep talking about the same topic.
Clarence Seedorf, also speaking on Prime Video, expressed this very concept: “Words are of little use. Talking about leadership and doing things together is one thing, then you have to do it. They know what to do, these players have already shown that they are capable of doing it. The performance was not so bad, however, something was missing that Feyenoord had instead.”
Seedorf is right, words are not needed, actions are needed. Enough has been said about certain things and the players themselves know perfectly well what they should do on the field. If someone is not willing to give 100 percent, warn Conceicao. Above all, those who should be leaders, at least technical ones (after six years at AC Milan, it has become clear that Theo Hernandez and Rafael Leao cannot be leaders of any other kind), must make a difference.
The coming months will also be important for making clear choices for next season. Those who are not willing to give their all for the Rossoneri jersey must leave. It is useless to say in interviews that they want to stay at Milan, that they are happy at Milan, that they care about Milan and maybe make nice posts on social networks showing that they have who knows what charge ahead of matches. These are words, more words, useless if not accompanied by certain facts.
