At the microphones of DAZN, former Juventus coach Andrea Stramaccioni commented on the draw obtained by Udinese on the field of leading Napoli on Sunday night.
“Udinese demonstrated the strength of ideas and project, coming out with praise from the challenge with the first in the class. The aspect I liked most was the mental approach supported by the tactical one. Deciding to play on an equal footing with Napoli, at home and at the psychologically best moment of Conte’s team’s season, is not only possible through a team attitude, but also becomes a matter of occupying and covering spaces. Runjaic was very smart because with the 3-5-2 he could not have played that kind of game and opposition in duels. Ekkelenkamp and Atta worked very well defending from the outside, but attacking without ever giving references. Runjaic prepared a great team tactically capable of covering the field very well. Besides Atta and Ekkelenkamp, I was impressed by Bijol and Solet. They are a great pair that can easily switch effectively in both systems of play. A mention should also be given to Karlstrom who was tactically valuable by doubling between midfield and defense. I believe that in modern soccer ideas are more connotative than cold numbers.”
