Falcone’s numbers, another clean sheet to match last year’s

Wladimiro Falcone’s positive statistics increase. Lecce-Bologna 0-0 was match number 100 in Serie A with Lecce (112th personal counting also appearances with Sampdoria), a match that allows Antonio Chimenti to pull even further away in the ranking of extreme defenders with the most caps in the top league. The total tally, also counting non-Serie A matches, still smiles on Chimenti: 104 to 103.

The comparison with Cavasin’s Lecce goalkeeper, as described in the statistics curated by Lecce Amarcord, continues in the number of unbeaten goals: after Lecce-Bologna 0-0, Falcone joined his former colleague at 19. This year there are 6, one less than the 7 totaled in the 38 matches in 2023/2024. Chimenti scored 9 in the 1999/2000 Serie A, spread, however, over 34 matches.

Falcone joins the club of Lecce players with triple-digit appearances in Serie A after Pasculli, Conticchio, Piangerelli, Stovini, Giacomazzi and Konan.
