Bologna is serious about Christian Ordonez. The latest updates on the deal come from La Gazzetta dello Sport on newsstands today: “Velez as of now chooses to speak only on the basis of the $10 million rescission clause, Bologna is keeping the track hot because if there were to be an opening it would leave on the fly to close the deal.”
There are several obstacles to overcome, however. Number one the competition: in the last few hours three clubs have reportedly entered for the midfielder, one less attractive than the others like Brentford and two that instead have history and economic possibilities like Manchester United and River Plate. Number two: timing. Because to postpone the matter until June Bologna has no desire for it: to close immediately is the intention, with a strategy that involves raising the stakes above $10 million, then offering something more by asking for the immediate acquisition, through a deferred payment and giving the percentage on the eventual resale. “Role” in the operation also for Castro: the center forward being a former partner of Ordonez acts as a go-between.
