Luciano Spalletti, coach of the Italian national team, had his say after the defeat to Norway. Here are his words, “You have to go and analyze what happened. We were not very determined to do things, a bit light. On the first goal we lost the ball on the change of play while there was a chance to make two more close passes and then they found spaces. More could have been done defensively, individually. We lost so many balls in the three-quarter, we had to get more on the fifths and instead we crowded too much in the center. At the individual defensive level in all three goals we have to be more determined, more bad.”

“Because then there were counter attacks, but we were never outnumbered. Even on the third goal after the ball lost by Tonali with the defensive line we were quite low, we faced them with the wrong men and in the wrong ways. Wrong readings are made and there are attitudes that need to be more loaded with muscle, with determination. We have been under level. Then we need to have some enthusiasm, individual level. We need to put something more, otherwise something needs to change. I consider this group important, the best I have today. We need to do better but I defend the group. I will say something to those who cannot get to their best.” Meanwhile, here is the training report<<<
