Roma, Gasp era kicks off: the plan from five reinforcements

The first day as Roma coach is already filed for Gian Piero Gasperini, who entered Trigoria with clear ideas and an ambitious mission: to get the Giallorossi back into the Champions League. “I chose Roma because it is a great challenge,” said the new coach, ready to shape the team according to his philosophy of play.

The market plan has already started, in tune with new sporting director Florent Ghisolfi and Claudio Ranieri, with whom Gasp has initiated initial discussions. The goal? To insert at least five targeted grafts to raise the technical and tactical level of the squad.

Lucumí in pole per la difesa, torna l’idea Kumbulla

The first piece to be fixed is in defense. At the top of the list is Bologna’s Jhon Lucumí, a reliable central player who is compatible with the new coach’s system. Kossonou of Bayer Leverkusen and Balerdi of Marseille also remain in the notebook, but at the moment the Colombian is the closest. In parallel, the return of Marash Kumbulla from Espanyol is also being considered, a low-cost option that could complete the department.

Un esterno e due fantasisti per il nuovo 3-4-2-1

On the right flank, profiles capable of covering the entire lane are sought. Nahuel Molina, outgoing from Atlético Madrid, and Agustin Giay, an Argentine talent from Palmeiras, are liked. In the three-quarter, Gasperini wants two dynamic offensive players: the hot names are AZ Alkmaar’s Sven Mijnans and Feyenoord’s Igor Paixao, both of whom are ideal to play the “Lookman”-like role. In midfield, work is also being done to retain Lucas Gourna-Douath, with whom a loan renewal is possible.

Dovbyk in bilico, ma si cerca una punta di fiducia

Up front, the knot is represented by Artem Dovbyk. He does not completely convince Gasperini, but his high cost (38.5 million) imposes caution. However, the coach could evaluate him during the training camp, flanking him with another striker on the move. The tracks Giacomo Raspadori, Gasp’s pupil from his Atalanta days, and Lorenzo Lucca remain alive. But Nikola Krstovic of Lecce, a young center forward but already accustomed to our league, is also gaining momentum. The Giallorossi’s summer has just begun, but maneuvers are already frantic: Gasperini wants a new Roma, custom-built to run.
