Ivan Ilic’s last season at Torino was not the most fortunate, due to a series of physical injuries that prevented him from finding many minutes on the field and a continuity of good performances. Despite the few games played Ilic had aroused the attention of Spartak Moscow, which in the winter market session was willing to offer 20 million in order to bring the Serbian player into their squad. However, the non-conclusion of the deal forced Ilic to stay without, however, finding any more minutes on the field due to the arrival of young midfielder Cesare Casadei, who from the very beginning earned the starting role with a series of excellent performances, which then diminished over the course of the season’s end. Since his arrival, Ilic has rarely managed to start among the first 11 while he has been repeatedly employed in the running game to try to provide unpredictability with his plays without, however, hardly ever proving decisive.

After almost 3 seasons at Torino Ilic could be among the suspects to leave the team during the summer market session. The major investment of almost 16 million never produced the desired results and the club may be willing to sell the player trying to cover the cost of the initial expenditure or possibly make a profit as could have happened in January. This at Torino has been his worst season in terms of scoring, and although on some occasions he has provided good performances, as in the case of the game against Atalanta in which he managed to score his only goal of the season, it is more the underwhelming games that fans remember, which is why his seasonal balance cannot be positive.
