Il regista granata chiude la stagione odierna sul podio dei mediani più quotati del campionato, nonostante un’annata tra alti e bassi
The 2024-2025 season for Samuele Ricci proved to be a real test. The 2001-born midfielder, who arrived at Torino in January 2022, experienced a year marked by ups and downs, in which he was not always able to confirm the expectations placed on him by the club and fans. Deployed with continuity, the Tuscan midfielder collected numerous appearances, establishing himself as one of the most used men in the squad (34 appearances as a starter). However, his performance was not always up to the pivotal role that the Granata coach had entrusted him with.
La sua stagione
He is back from a complicated season marked by several injuries, and his absence has weighed on the performance of Paolo Vanoli’s lineup. Without Ricci, the Toro has never won. In some matches he showed the best of his repertoire, particularly against less aggressive opponents he was able to take charge of the midfield, dictating the tempo and giving balance to the Granata maneuver. But it was precisely these more convincing performances that brought out, by contrast, the difficulties highlighted at other junctures of the championship.
Against big teams or in high-intensity matches, the Granata number 28 has often struggled. In several matches he has appeared incisive, almost timid, unable to provide a shock or take responsibility at key moments. The impression is that he still lacks that leap in quality needed to establish himself permanently as a midfield leader. Ricci, however, is a burgeoning talent, which is why he has managed to earn the chance to wear his own colors to represent Spalletti’s Italy, and is the third most valuable midfielder in Serie A.
Ricci, la permanenza al Torino è a rischio
For Ricci, 2025-2026 may be the year of ultimate maturity, but it is logical to expect a summer in which Torino will receive offers for its midfielder, whose permanence hangs in the balance.
