There is a new name for the defense. The defensive department is certainly the one most likely to change over the course of this summer. The players with suitcases in hand, in fact, are really several, starting with Malick Thiaw. The German, as we have been telling you for weeks now, is the first suspect to say goodbye to the company, after a season made more of lows than highs.

The player ended the year as a reserve player and has matured the idea of returning to Germany so he can play his chances ahead of the upcoming World Cup. Milan’s valuation of him is 35 million euros: to date, two teams have shown interest in the former Schalke 04, Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen. It is precisely the ‘aspirins’ who have most strongly expressed the idea of buying him and so they are ready to present the first concrete offer to the Diavolo.

Malick Thiaw’s fate is thus sealed, as is that of Fikayo Tomori. The Englishman is ready to return to his homeland, after coming close in January. Tottenham’s offer exceeding 25 million, however, was returned to sender. It will not happen again in the summer.

Spurs may soon come around again, but watch out for other teams, such as West Ham, Aston Villa and Fulham. Just from England could come the right reinforcement. It is a name that has often been approached by Milan and it is that of Nikola Milenkovic. The former Fiorentina player, now at Nottingham Forest, is valued at around 20 million. He has the good fortune to know Serie A well and is still young being 27 years old.

An experienced player like Milenkovic could thus be joined by a very young Italian: Milan – as we are telling you – aims to add blue players to its roster. For the defensive department, thus, Comuzzo is followed, but he is expensive. It is easier to get to Coppola of Verona, but the profile that tickles the managers’ fancy the most is that of Giovanni Leoni of Parma. For the young Italian, however, competition is really fierce.
