The 2024-2025 season is certainly not the one that was hoped for him: he experienced a complex championship, made up of few appearances and an error – the red card taken in the away match against Fiorentina – that, at the moment when he had been given confidence, compromised not only his performance, but also that of the team.

Dembelé has struggled to carve out space in Vanoli’s technical chessboard. His appearances this season have been sporadic, almost always as a substitute (only 4 as a starter), and without ever really managing to make an impact. One of the most important opportunities was given to him in Florence, but that game became a critical point of his year. After a tentative first half, Dembélé got himself cautioned for an avoidable foul and, a few minutes later, was sent off for double caution, leaving Torino outnumbered. From there on, the space for him narrowed further.

The expulsion at “Franchi” weighed on the coach’s confidence and the general perception of his performance. The episode showed the limits of experience and emotional management of a footballer who, at 20 years old, still has much to learn. However, the coaching staff continues to believe in his potential, believing that with greater maturity and consistent work he can still have his say in the granata jersey.
The final balance of his season is meager: few appearances, only one goal (the one at Udinese, his first in Serie A) and zero assists. But the future is yet to be written, and for Dembelé the upcoming summer training camp will be a crucial test to relaunch himself and regain space in the Torino project.
