Lorenzo Pellegrini has no intention of raising the white flag. After a season to forget, the Roma captain has taken refuge in quiet work: gym, therapies and long afternoons in Trigoria to try to speed up his return from his right thigh rectus femoris tendon injury. No vacation for now, just the desire to get back on his feet after months lived on the sidelines.
His last year was probably the most complex of his Roma career: underwhelming performance, a role never really tailor-made, and the coup de grace of injury that took him off the scene just when experience and leadership were needed. Ranieri could count on him only in spurts, and too often without the real Pellegrini.
