Il sindaco di Torino Lo Russo ha annunciato che l’Agenzia delle Entrate ha accolto la richiesta della giunta sulle ipoteche dello stadio
The Internal Revenue Service has granted the petition filed by Mayor Stefano Lo Russo asking not to renew the mortgage registration that has encumbered the Grande Torino Olympic Stadium for 20 years. Last Feb. 18, the city council had approved an application submitted by the mayor and Sports Councillor Domenico Carretta regarding the Granata stadium.
For some time, the municipality and the club have been working to sell the stadium on which the 38-million-euro mortgages were encumbered. For this reason, First Citizen Lo Russo had submitted a formal petition to the Internal Revenue Service for non-renewal of the mortgage registration.
Lo Russo: “Un passo importante che parla di futuro”
In a Facebook post, Turin Mayor Stefano Lo Russo made the Internal Revenue Service’s decision official. The first citizen wrote:
“In the tenure of a mayor, there are moments that stick in the memory. Today is one of those moments, a day I will remember for a long time. The request I submitted to the IRS has been granted and the mortgage on the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino will not be renewed.
I am really excited: we have taken an important step, one that speaks of the future but also of memory, a step that for me and for many Torinese has a deep value. The Olympic Stadium is not just concrete and bleachers: it is history, sport, community, it is a symbol that means so much to the people of Turin. Today, as mayor, I feel the responsibility and honor of giving this place back the chance to write new pages.”
