MAY 21 UPDATE – As Corriere dello Sport reports in its edition today, from next week every day will be the right one to discuss the possible contract renewal. The first move lies with Lazio; it must formulate an offer. The defender is set to expire in 2027; Lotito, implementing an old move, could propose an extension until 2029 at the same figure as now, or tweaking it by inserting easier bonuses.

MAY 18 UPDATE – As reported in today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, there seems to be no hurry for the renewal of Italian defender Alessio Romagnoli: after an initial interlocutory meeting that took place in Formello between the two parties in the past few days, more will be needed to understand whether the conditions exist to continue together or not.

All therefore postponed until after the end of the championship, with every scenario seemingly remaining possible.

MAY 17 UPDATE – As Corriere dello Sport reports in its edition today, Lazio and Romagnoli are reportedly quietly negotiating for a renewal but the cards will be fully revealed at the end of this season. The club claims it never put him on the market, although tensions between the player and Lotito are dated. The reason is known: when he signed on a zero-parameter basis with Lazio (July 2022) he was made promises of bonuses that were later broken.

After so long, Alessio is tired: he is fine at Lazio, has two more years on his contract, but wants to clarify his position, possibly through a renewal. Fabiani mediates and will try to settle differences through an extension.

UPDATE APRIL 27 – As Corriere dello Sport reports in its edition today, Alessio Romagnoli’s future could be far from Lazio. The Biancoceleste club has made clear its intentions to rejuvenate the squad and he, 30, would be called out in that regard. His contract expires in 2027 but the demands from Premier and Arabia are there, demands that could hatch in this summer soccer market. Alessio earns 3 million a season and the biancoceleste club, to make him leave, will ask for a considerable sum anyway.
