It’s official: Francesco Farioli has decided to leave Ajax after a season led at the top of the Eredivisie that ended on a sour note, however, with a disastrous end to the season that allowed PSV to come back and win the title.
“Farioli has decided to leave Ajax after careful consideration. The coach has informed the club’s management of his decision. Thank you for everything Francesco!” the Dutch club writes on X.
Farioli therefore is now free to settle on a new bench: the coach, long approached by Roma, also seems to be appetite by Tottenham.

Technical director Alex Kroes expressed his disappointment: “This is a great loss. Francis made a key contribution, including in strengthening the performance culture. The summer will be even more challenging than expected.”
Farioli said goodbye with words of affection and gratitude, “Bringing Ajax back to the Champions League was an honor. We shared passion, responsibility and respect. But different visions and times with the management lead us to part now, at the right time.”
