It’s one failure after another for Milan. Now the magnifying glass is pointed at Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The bottom line.

It happened again. The disappointments in the Milan household really never end. The Rossoneri last Wednesday had to deal with defeat in the Coppa Italia final against Bologna. A truly bitter disappointment that certified the Rossoneri club’s disastrous year. Tonight they will play against Roma to try to salvage what can be saved, but the real risk is of not qualifying for Europe.
There is, therefore, licking of wounds, but the disappointments, as mentioned, are coming one after another. Yesterday it was Milan Futuro’s turn, relegated to Serie D, after a 2-0 loss to Spal. They started from one-nil in the first leg, but Ferrara the hosts overturned the result, condemning the Diavolo to hell.
An ending that was foretold back in the summer, when the choices made had not convinced anyone at all. It was thought that the Milan Futuro team would be entrusted to Ignazio Abate, who knew the group, having coached it with the Primavera team, but disagreements with Zlatan Ibrahimovic brought Daniele Bonera to the bench. The former defender proved unfit, but that was somewhat predictable given his nonexistent experience. The change, with Massimo Oddo, came, then, unfortunately too late.

But Daniele Bonera was not the only bad choice. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the symbol of Milan Futuro’s failure, although Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada are also to blame, chose Kirovski. A difficult choice to understand, which obviously did not pay off. The former LA Galaxy has never had anything to do with Italian soccer and especially with Serie C, a particular league for which determinant knowledge is needed. So even the summer signings turned out to be unsuitable.
It is really hard to save anything from Milan Futuro. The project was supposed to serve players like Francesco Camarda to grow and establish themselves in a professional league, but its management is the epitome of failure. The class of 2008 was tossed from one team to another, without eventually being able to play in the playout because he had not reached 25 appearances. All wrong, then. Now we will wait to see from where and with whom the Milan Futuro project will continue. Repechage is not to be ruled out, but more men will be needed at the helm.
