Manchester City makes AC Milan and its fans tremble: the indiscretion coming from England (and confirmed in Italy) is a mauling

The Coppa Italia final between Milan and Bologna is two days away. The Rossoneri have an opportunity to make this season a little sweeter with their second trophy after the Italian Super Cup in January. Certainly, however, the eventual victory would not change much the negative judgment of the year, which was, is and will remain disastrous no matter what. The Rossoneri are still resoundingly in the running for the Champions League but there is much, too much that has to happen to get to that goal. After four years in a row, then, Milan will not play in Europe’s top tournament.
Serious harm from a sporting point of view for the fans; financial for the ownership. The loss of Champions League revenues could force the club to evaluate even more carefully possible offers for the big names on the roster: Maignan, Theo Hernandez, Leao, Pulisic and … Tijjani Reijnders. And it is precisely the latter who is the center of attention in the last hours: the indiscretion coming from England, later confirmed in Italy as well, makes fans tremble.
Come Beukema-Gabbia: tifosi increduli

The Telegraph this morning reported on Manchester City’s strong interest in the Dutch midfielder. Reijnders recently renewed his contract until 2030 and with salary adjustment, and this certainly has a bearing. But RedBird’s policy has been very clear since the farewell of Maldini (an obstacle for major disposals) and the sale of Tonali to Newcastle: any major offer congruent with the player’s value will be evaluated.
Manchester City is reportedly planning to invest nearly 70 million on Reijnders, a figure very much in line with the player’s economic value. Milan, thanks to the recent renewal, and especially thanks to the Dutchman’s sensational season for goals and assists, could go as far as 80 million. The indiscretion by The Telegraph was later also confirmed by Matteo Moretto, a journalist at Relevo. “Total confirmation on Manchester City’s interest. The Dutchman is among the very first targets of the English who are studying a possible offer. There has been no contact yet with either Reijnders’ agent or Milan,” the words on YouTube. Milan wants to hold on to Reijnders, but when faced with certain figures they will not say no. Any sale of the Dutchman would only fuel the discontent of the square with management and ownership. The Rossoneri’s financial condition is good and does not need a major divestment.
The article Guardiola enrages Milan fans, mauling just hours before final was written and published in its original version on Milanlive.it.
