Vlahovic and Allegri’s nostalgia: there is a fact that explains the failure of Motta and Tudor

A season to forget for the Serbian striker at Juventus: other than Thiago Motta, the bomber almost regrets Allegri’s “defensive-minded”

Fourth in the standings, in full fight for the Europe that counts. With two days to go, Juventus is playing for everything. One only has to look at the calendar to understand how concrete the possibility of detaching the ticket for the Champions League is: two wins, against Udinese and Venezia, and fourth place will be a done deal, without having to look at the results of the others.

A complex season, marked by a change in the bench and moments of societal tension, but with an ending yet to be written. It is a pity that, in the midst of this troubled path, one of the most anticipated protagonists has often remained in the shadows: Dusan Vlahovic.

Juve, una stagione deludente per Vlahovic

No mincing words are needed: the Serbian’s has been a season to forget. After deciding the Coppa Italia final a year ago against Atalanta – it seemed his breakthrough moment – Vlahovic experienced a downward parabola that no one expected. It was supposed to be the season of redemption, of the ultimate explosion.

Instead, it turned out to be anything but: few flashes, many underwhelming games, and that constant feeling of being a foreign body to the technical project. Those who thought Allegri’s farewell would benefit his performance were disappointed. With Thiago Motta first and Igor Tudor later, the former Fiorentina bomber has continued to struggle.

The one-two in Leipzig, one of the few moments to remember, has remained an exception rather than a signal. Even Tudor, a few weeks ago, said without mincing words, “He hasn’t felt 100 percent and won’t start.”

Stagioni a confronto: il rendimento con Allegri spiega tutto

The numbers tell a story that hurts. Last year, with all the difficulties involved, Vlahovic had finished with 18 goals in 38 appearances, 16 of them in the league: second highest scorer behind Lautaro Martinez. This year, when there are only two matches left, we are stuck at 14 goals in 39 games. Less incisive, less involved, less present even emotionally.

And if Juventus has held its own so far, it is more because of defensive solidity than offensive verve. In an attack where no light has ever been seen, Vlahovic has never really found room to impose himself. On the contrary, his difficulties have become a symbol of a team still in search of identity.

Chi dopo Vlahovic? Le alternative sul tavolo

The future seems already sealed: with one year to go before his contract expires, Juventus will try in every way to monetize from his sale. The scenario closely resembles the one experienced with Federico Chiesa last year. But there’s more: with Kolo Muani destined to return to PSG and Milik in the box for months, the Bianconeri will have to intervene heavily in the market.

Three very different profiles stand out among the names on Giuntoli’s notebook, but they share one element: the desire to emerge. The first is Victor Osimhen, but the negotiation is complex and expensive. More affordable, at least in theory, is Rasmus Hojlund, who could be part of broader talks related to possible trades.

Finally, watch out for Lorenzo Lucca, who after an excellent season at Udinese (and disqualification against Juve) could be an interesting option. Making everything even more intriguing is the fact that every market strategy will pass by one big certainty: Champions League qualification. Without that, certain names remain only suggestions.
