The Rossoneri club is ready for a total revolution: the decision made by the management regarding the roster

“A failure.” Words, very harsh, those uttered by Ad Giorgio Furlani after Milan’s defeat in the Coppa Italia final at the hands of Bologna. Victory would have mitigated the disappointment for a championship that certainly cannot satisfy. Just think of last season: the Rossoneri finished in second place behind Inter, though without ever fighting for the title.

Pioli said goodbye – at the behest of the management – and that is probably where the trouble began. From Fonseca to Conceiçao, with the turnover coming at the end of December, Milan has never been able to give continuity to a season that has become week after week a real enigma.

Winning the Italian Super Cup was a sporadic light in the general darkness: the Coppa Italia could have been too, with arithmetic qualification for the Europa League. And now the Rossoneri risk a season without cups, given their eighth-place ranking.

Coming off three consecutive wins, anything can still happen: theoretically in the running even for fourth place, the last two will be decisive in figuring out the final position in the standings and whether or not next season will be a season without cups.

Milan, quale allenatore: la lista degli italiani nel mirino

The Rossoneri management, however, has already “ruled” on Sergio Conceiçao’s future: it will be divorce at the end of the season, with the Rossoneri relying on their fourth coach in just over a year. This time, the short list is totally Italian: from Max Allegri, who is still the favorite at the moment, to Maurizio Sarri, another very welcome profile, and Roberto De Zerbi, the coach always highly appreciated in Via Aldo Rossi.

Vincenzo Italiano, the coach who executed Milan in the Coppa Italia, has also entered the list of favorites. As for the roster, however, there will be several novelties, including goodbyes and new arrivals. The goal of the Rossoneri club is to Italianize the squad as much as possible.

Hence the decision to target certain players who can at the same time give the team a quantum leap. Several targets in each department. In defense, despite the recent renewal, the big target is Pietro Comuzzo from Fiorentina, one of the most interesting young talents on the national scene.

Alternatives, however, lead to Diego Coppola of Verona, who has also shown some confidence in scoring this season, and another emerging talent, Giovanni Leoni of Parma.

Da Orsolini a Lucca: gli obiettivi dei rossoneri

The midfield could be reinforced by Roma’s Lorenzo Pellegrini, whose future is still to be written with the Giallorossi club and will also depend a lot on the new coach in Trigoria. Milan has then been thunderstruck by Riccardo Orsolini, a player admirable for tactical dedication: he but also Federico Chiesa eager to return to Serie A are the alternatives to reinforce the outside lanes.

In attack, on the other hand, the focus is on Udinese’s Lorenzo Lucca: one of the most interesting profiles with ample room for growth, but competition is high, with Napoli, Juve and Inter all thinking about the bomber.
