“It was a combination of different things. I didn’t want to stay in Italy because I couldn’t see myself in a team other than Lazio. I was attracted by the idea of going back to Spain, but it was practically impossible. Also, Al Duhail had been looking for me for two years and I gave them my word. I wanted to have a different experience, and although I had doubts at first, I think I made the right decision for me and my family. We are very happy here. I’ve never hidden and I’m not going to hide now. I always said I would like to go back to Seville or Cadiz.”
“So many assists at Lazio? Yes, I made several, but I could have made more, as for goals. I lacked a bit of luck. I hope now everyone who didn’t get in will get in. I had an injury this year, but the balance is positive. I would have liked to win the championship, because we were ahead. In the end we lost, but we won the Cup and now the Copa del Príncipe starts, which is very important in Qatar. We hope to finish with another title. That would be the ideal way to end the season.”
