Former Massara could provide an assist to Milan to get their hands on the first target: details

The search for a sporting director continues. It has been months since the first rumors came out: it was practically done with Fabio Paratici, with contracts ready to be just signed, then yet another sudden about-face by Milan as we have seen so many since American funds have been in charge. Recently there have been meetings with Igli Tare, free of contractual constraints, but the lack of closure until today makes it clear that there are question marks over him.
The profile that convinces most is that of Tony D’Amico, Atalanta’s current sporting director, bound by a long and important contract. Percassi wants no part of it and publicly armored him in a conference: “Next year he has the responsibility of building a strong Atalanta.” Words that did not discourage the Rossoneri, who are still interested in his profile because he is young, little media and used to working in a group. To help Milan in this negotiation, surprisingly, could be a former Milan player, a protagonist of the club’s recent history.
Massara dice addio al Rennes e può “aiutare” il Milan
Following a consensual agreement, Frederic Massara has decided to leave Rennes, a team to which he had been linked for a few years. Paolo Maldini’s right-hand man, he was a key figure in Milan’s successes thanks to his market insights. It is someone like him, besides of course Maldini, who is sorely missed today. And now he could do the Rossoneri another favor.

Massara, who is respected and recognized throughout Italy, could become a serious option for Atalanta’s sporting director position if D’Amico’s departure comes to pass. At that point, Milan would have the way paved to take the former Verona sporting director. A scenario therefore to be kept in mind for June: the fact that there are no new rumors about Milan’s choice of the diesse, and also Giorgio Furlani’s statements, suggest that he has not yet been announced because he is still under contract with another team. There is also another hypothesis, the most feared by fans: what if Milan had chosen a profile of little impact (in recent months the name of a certain Modesto, a friend of Moncada’s who left Monza this season, was mentioned)? The risk is there.
