Wednesday will mark 25 years since the second biancoceleste Scudetto, won in a thrilling championship finale, arguably one of the most compelling ever in Serie A. Twenty-four hours later, on Thursday evening, from 8 p.m. onward, the historic occasion will be celebrated in an equally special location: at the Casina di Macchia Madama, the site of the May 14, 2000 celebration, which came just hours after the 3-0 win over Reggina and Juventus’ stoppage in a deluge in Perugia, which allowed the Biancocelesti to overtake the Bianconeri on the final day.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport, the party should be attended by many, with the group of Italians attending almost in full: Lazio captain Nesta, with Mancini, Lombardo, Favalli, Marchegiani, Gottardi, Pancaro, Negro and Marcolino; among the foreigners most likely to be at the evening Couto and Salas. For the others confirmation is still awaited, but what will be certain is that in any case they will be protagonists through the footage of that historic season that will be broadcast during the evening. Among the guests, of course, Lotito has also included former president Cragnotti, who will already be in Formello tomorrow for the presentation of the book “Diluvio e Delirio” together with Zaccagni and Baroni.
The latest winning of the tricolor, moreover, will also be dedicated to the evening episode of Lazialità, a program hosted by Guido De Angelis on Lazio TV; while on Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18, the commemorative exhibition “E penso a te” on the 125 years of Lazio, the greatest multi-sport club in Europe, will be held at the Protomoteca Hall in Campidoglio, where, of course, that 2000 Scudetto will also be remembered, thanks to stories and historical memorabilia.
